Monosodium Glutamate is sodium salt that can be found in glutamic acid, the most abundant non-essential amino acid in nature. We distribute this important flavour enhancer for the Iberian market. The literal translation of Ajinomoto is “Essence of flavour”, and is used as a brand name for monosodium glutamate (MSG), which was discovered and patented in 1909 by Kikunae Ikeda. He discovered that, in food like tomatoes, asparagus, cheese or meat, there was a common flavour that was not identified with any of the previously known flavours: (sweet, salty, bitter or sour); he then called it UMAMI. He knew that it was present in the “broth” made from kombu, a type of seaweed found in traditional Japanese cuisine. By using a lot of kombu broth, he was able to extract glutamic acid (or glutamate) crystals.

Sodium cyclamate and calcium cyclamate are synthetic sweeteners. They improve the overall taste of food and sugar-free drinks, reducing their calories. They are also used in pharmaceutical products. Sodium cyclamate and calcium cyclamate have unique properties: Excellent taste: comparable to sugar.
Non-caloric: zero calories.
Good solubility: highly soluble in water.
Synergic: Its results are improved when combined with other sweeteners.
